How to Run Role Playing Games with LOTS of Players

Pre-Covid, I used to run my games in the local game shop. I had the entire back room and a huge table for my DnD sessions (other DMs got cramped tables at the front of the store with lots of noise from other table games) and lots of additional players would ‘drop in’ for games with my core group of seven players. The increased numbers would lead to many an interesting session!

Here’s a blog I wrote way back on how to run face-to-face games with large groups. Enjoy! πŸ™‚

  1. A wholesale customer of ours ran the world’s largest DND competition last year! That’s a party size that doesn’t quite fit the suggestions. πŸ˜‰

I did find myself nodding along with your pointers and thinking how they’d improve most groups’ experiences.

      1. Well… they split everyone into groups all throughout the mall. Each group was run by its own DM, but all were working towards completing the same campaign and defeating some sort of ultimate boss at the end.
