Gatewalkers is a 228-page hardcover adventure path (AP) for the Pathfinder 2e TTRPG. Any of you who have been following me for a while will know that P2e is one of my favorite TTRPGs and one I ran frequently prior to my semi-retirement (for more on that, check out https://stevestillstanding.com/2026/06/25/an-ending-and-a-beginning/).
Gatewalkers was originally released as a three-part series for adventurers of 1st-10th level. Since the the P2e Remaster (in the wake of the WoTC OGL scandal), the AP has been issued in one volume, complete with remaster revisions and playtest amendments. Gatewalkers is an epic adventure that takes adventurers across Golarion, traveling via convenient magical gates from the River Kingdoms to the planet Castrovel, to the Lake of Mists and Veils and the Crown of the World. The party lost their memories during the Night of the Missing Moment, and have been recruited by Dr. Etward Ritalson as paranormal investigators to discover what actually happened. Each PC starts with an additional paranormal ability from the P2e Dark Archive, which increases in power as the campaign progresses and they uncover the secrets behind what really happened, leading up to a final battle to save the world (what else lol?). There is lots to do in this AP, and like all P2e APs there is a lot of fighting and fair bit of railroading to get players headed in the right direction (APs by their very nature tend to be quite linear).

I enjoyed this AP much more than Abomination Vaults – the recommended AP for most beginner GMs – which I would describe as a fairly dry dungeon crawl (don’t get me wrong: many people love Abomination Vaults, it just wasn’t to my liking). I found Gatewalkers has far more variety in adventuring environments, more interesting experiences, more traveling and better lore than Abomination Vaults.
The Gatewalkers book includes extensive sections on Castrovel and the Lake of Mists and Veils regions; new magic items, spells and rituals; the Oatia Skysage, Scion of Domora and twilight Speaker archetypes, all with new feats (for multi-classing); over 30 new monsters and major NPCs. You’ll need the P2e Dark Archive as well, or just access the Dark Archive stuff via the Archives of Nethys, the online archive that has all the P2e rules for free. Gatewalkers is well worth buying to run with your gaming group.
