Symbaroum: Agrella, City of Eternal Euphoria Preview!

I have been a fan of the Symbaroum TTRPG since I bought the rules a decade ago. It’s a grim dark, heavy lore-based and politically-charged fantasy role playing game set in an area to the south of a huge, ancient forest, and features a multi-layered six-book campaign that more or less bookends the game’s storyline (despite that, there’s still plenty of room for more adventures). I own everything for the system and usually pick up new books via their Kickstarters, but for some reason decided not to for Agrella, City of Eternal Euphoria. To cut a long story short, Free League had a sale, and I picked up the book for a steal. Which is probably a good enough reason to wait, especially in today’s economy.

Agrella, City of Eternal Euphoria is a city setting for Symbaroum, with a city gazetteer, lore, important NPCs, factions, events, adventure seeds and a three-act adventure, The Outrage of Betrayed Brethren. The city of Agrella is of particular note because of its many festivals and the local “Joy Mandate”, which forces people to be happy or be jailed (there’s nothing like smiling for your authoritarian rulers while you’re being dragged away for contempt). The included adventures heavily feature the festivals, conspiracies and the political intrigue abundant in the setting.

Because I’m a huge fan of Symbaroum, any review I do of Agrella would be outrageously biased, so I’ll let you watch the unboxing video to see for yourself if you think it’s worth the investment (spoiler: I think it is lol).
