Hi all,

2024 was a big year for me. I made the decision to release more print books (after focusing on releasing mostly digital content in 2023). I started running new TTRPG games, designed lots of products and continued my YouTube channel. So here is a quick rundown on what happened in 2024.

Kickstarter

I ran 10 successful Kickstarters (out of 10) this year! Kickstarter is a very competitive marketplace for TTRPG products, so a bit of diversification helped this year. They included:

As of 31 December 2024, customers have purchased and downloaded 49,282 products from Laidback DM since I first started my online business. Yay!

Product Releases

Lots of products released this year, many as a result of my successful Kickstarters! I had a much bigger focus on printed products this year (mainly because I love seeing books on my shelf).

FiveE Magazine – Issue 4

Each year I edit, layout, write for and produce FiveE magazine, with help from a bunch of talented writers and artists to provide a FREE magazine for the DnD 5e community. Download it or get a free print copy (you only pay for print and postage costs). This is a not-for-profit enterprise – my way of saying thank you for all your support!

Poetry

I released a new book of poems this year:

I’m still writing poetry (though not as much as previously – such is life), and I don’t post as much now because of AI scrapers. You can check out my previously posted poetry at: https://stevestillstanding.com/category/poetry/

New Logos

I decided to freshen up my logos this year! I think they look pretty cool and there’s a bit more variety now.

Games

I started running Dragonbane games this year (I post brief summaries to my socials, but not here. My Pathfinder 2e Campaign continued and I started publishing some of the summaries here (as well as posting current updates each week to my socials). I still ran lots of DnD 5e games (for playtesting purposes). I also ran several Call of Cthulhu and Monster of the Week games face-to-face games (after covid I moved all my games online, but I still run a few face-to-face on special occasions).

Session Summaries

A few years back I started posting my email session summaries I originally sent to players at the end of games. I kept publishing them this year with some ending and a few new ones beginning:

Maps

I love making maps, and I made a 20 hand-drawn improvised map series for YouTube called Ruins of Rukdar-Zin, which ended not long ago. Here are the final 2 maps, but you can find the rest on my YouTube Channel at https://www.youtube.com/@LaidbackDM
