Tranquil Lyre

Wondrous Item, very rare (requires attunement by a Bard)

The Tranquil Lyre is a beautifully crafted musical instrument, adorned with intricate carvings of serene landscapes and peaceful creatures and strung with strings made from the hair of celestial beings. It produces a sound that soothes the soul and calms the mind. While attuned to the Tranquil Lyre, the user has advantage on Charisma (Persuasion) checks when they play the Lyre while calming or resolving conflicts peacefully.

Once per long rest, the attuned user can use their ACTION to play a soothing melody – all creatures within a 30-foot radius that can hear the music must succeed on a DC 15 Wisdom save or be charmed for 1 minute. The effect ends if an affected creature takes damage or if it is commanded to do something that might lead to it harming itself.

Once per long rest, the attuned user can use their ACTION to play a special song invoking deep tranquility. For the next hour, all creatures within a 10-foot radius that can hear the music gain the benefits of a sanctuary spell (DC 15). Additionally, they gain temporary hit points equal to the attuned user’s Bard level + Charisma modifier.

During a short or long rest, the attuned user can play the Tranquil Lyre to enhance the rest – all creatures that hear the music regain 2d6 hit points during the rest.
