New DnD 5e Magic Item: Celestial Aegis of Arvala!

A new semi-regular column: magic items! Let’s see how long I can sustain the enthusiasm for this lol!

First up – some VERY powerful (and extremely rare) magic armor. Enjoy!

Celestial Aegis of Arvala

Armor (heavy), artifact (requires attunement)

This armor is infused with the soul of the angel Arvala, who can telepathically communicate with the wearer. Unfortunately, Arvala can be quite annoying as he constantly complains about his current state of existence.

The Celestial Aegis of Arvala is a suit of Plate Mail +3 consisting of shining silver plates adorned with intricate celestial motifs which glow softly with an otherworldly light, providing dim light in a 10 ft. radius.

Armor Abilities

Radiant Resilience: The Celestial Aegis of Arvala provides the wearer with resistance to radiant and necrotic damage.

Healing Aura: When the wearer is injured, the armor releases a healing aura, restoring 5 HP per round. Once per day, the user can use a pool of 50 HP to heal up to 5 allies in a 20 ft. radius, splitting the pool between each of the allies.

Celestial Guidance: The armor allows the wearer to commune with celestial beings for guidance. Once per day, the wearer can ask a single question of a benevolent celestial entity, receiving insight that may help them overcome challenges or make important decisions.

Divine Ward: Once per day, the Celestial Aegis of Arvala can manifest a divine ward, forming a barrier of radiant energy in a 20 ft. Radius around the wearer. The wearer can select which allies in the radius are protected. This protective aura lasts for 2 rounds and is the equivalent of a shield spell.

Purifying Touch: Once per day when the wearer touches an ally, the armor can remove a curse, cure a disease, or remove a condition.

Celestial Grace: The armor enhances the wearer’s agility and speed, granting improved mobility and increased reflexes. It provides the wearer with Advantage on Dexterity-based checks and saving throws.

Note: Artifacts are unique magic items of tremendous power, and include additional properties not listed here – see p.219-227 of the DMG for more information.
