Snow Angels. A poem.

I craved your attention,
But you were content
Creating snow angels
And only dreaming
Of the new day sun.

    1. Thanks, Geri. I’m glad you liked it. Poems are meant to be interpreted and that’s what you took from it, which is great. It has a darker edge, though—it’s a post relationship commentary: the narrator feels ignored because the person he cared about valued other things more than him. In this case the snow angel is a metaphor for a life the narrator feels he wasn’t part of.

      1. No worries. I write my poems with a deeper level of meaning than first appears. Many readers don’t delve deeper, preferring a surface-level interpretation. And that’s fine. Everybody gets what they want from a particular piece of poetry, as it should be. 😊🙏
