Thanks, Geri. I’m glad you liked it. Poems are meant to be interpreted and that’s what you took from it, which is great. It has a darker edge, though—it’s a post relationship commentary: the narrator feels ignored because the person he cared about valued other things more than him. In this case the snow angel is a metaphor for a life the narrator feels he wasn’t part of.

No worries. I write my poems with a deeper level of meaning than first appears. Many readers don’t delve deeper, preferring a surface-level interpretation. And that’s fine. Everybody gets what they want from a particular piece of poetry, as it should be. 😊🙏
