Sand Head. A poem.

I wanted to put my head
deep down in the dust,
but it was too hard to breathe
amongst my crowded thoughts.

I guess the best laid head
was like the worst laid plan:
too many consequences,
like
infinite
grains
of
sand.

    1. It’s a play on the original expression “the best laid plans” – about the futility of making plans when they often go awry. In this case, I can’t just bury my head in the sand and ignore life—life, like suffocating sand, is all about consequences. 🙂
