Safer Path? A poem.

Stick to the path
Safer there?

Than thickets and brush
Hidden
from prying eyes
That seek to
Rend and blind

Seek the safer path
that winds on

Lingering like
dawn’s afterglow

The safer path?

  1. I love this, Steve. It makes me think that the “safer path” is important but up to the beholder. You know what I mean? Like maybe being adventurous may heal ones heart to safety but for someone else it could sitting cuddled reading a nice book, drinking coffee. But don’t let anyone tell you what your hiding place is. It’s completely up to you.

    1. Hi Carly, poetry is a wonderful thing, because it enables the reader to interpret the poem however they wish (depending on how the poem is written; some poems don’t allow for interpretation). This poem in particular questions whether the safer path is the safest and best route: for some that may be the case, for others, not. Thanks for reading, glad you liked it πŸ™‚
